Junior Game Developer

Austin, TX (Onsite required)

About the Role

We're looking for a talented Junior Game Developer to join our Austin-based team and help create interactive experiences that bridge digital and physical worlds. In this role, you'll work onsite alongside experienced developers to build immersive game components, interactive visualizations, and digital interfaces using technologies like Unity, JavaScript, and Three.js that are core to the Kingdom Quest experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive components and features using Unity/C# and JavaScript/Three.js
• Create responsive web and game interfaces that work across multiple platforms
• Implement gameplay mechanics and interactive elements based on design specifications
• Build browser-based 3D experiences using JavaScript and Three.js
• Integrate with backend services through REST APIs and WebSockets
• Optimize performance for various devices and platforms
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and backend developers
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience developing interactive applications (professional or personal projects)
• Experience with either Unity/C# or JavaScript/Three.js development
• Strong programming skills and understanding of object-oriented principles
• Knowledge of game UI systems, animation, and physics
• Basic understanding of 3D mathematics and graphics programming concepts
• Experience with version control systems (Git preferred)
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have

• Experience with both Unity and web-based game development (JavaScript/Three.js)
• Familiarity with modern web frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Experience with AR/VR development
• Understanding of networking principles for multiplayer experiences
• Background in game design or interactive storytelling
• Experience with shader programming in Unity or WebGL
• Knowledge of mobile development constraints and optimization techniques
• Familiarity with agile development practices
